Emily King Soundtracked Your Ex Encounters In “Look At Me Now”

Who’s winning now in life?

NY artist Emily King captures that inexplicable competitive sensation we feel when we run into our exes in her new single “Look At Me Now.” Any ex encounter can be awkward, not only because you’re running into someone who has seen you naked and worst side of you – but also because you’re both caught in this weird rat race to see who is better off without each other. None of you are necessarily winning cus weight and income fluctuate, but it’s an exquisite feeling when your life actually looks like your Instagram at that moment:

“I wanted to write a song addressing someone who hurt you in the past. As if you just run into them on the street one day and now’s your chance to let them know how great you’ve been doing. But really, all you want is their attention. Insecurity disguised as swagger.” explained Emily King.

The track is from Emily’s upcoming album Scenery, which will be out on February 1st via ATO. The gal will start touring soon, so make sure to see her in person:
