Rising artist Devault revealed his debut EP Stay last week and it’s the perfect treat for your holiday playlist – melancholic with a small dose of hope, very similar to our attitude towards 2018. If you’re wondering who is Devault well, he’s a dude from Orange County who has supported artists such as DJ Snake and Porter Robinson. He has amassed millions of streams for his remixes with Rihanna, AlunaGeorge, and Kehlani. But if all these highlights still can’t persuade you, we compiled three very rational reasons why you should dose Stay nonstop:

1) This video:

Aside from being a stunning romantic thriller, the lyrics are just carnal (“Pointless life, drowned out liver / I felt a shiver / Behind my eyes and down my spine”)

2) Has a bunch of cool guests like Njomza, Bipolar Sunshine, James Droll, etc.

3) He practices realistic, moody optimism:

“Releasing my first project feels like a breath of fresh air, not only for my career but my life as a young man. This EP is a collection of memories and emotions from the past year or so, accompanied by some of my favorite vocalists. I feel so comfortable now in my own skin with this out, as one of the main goals for the Devault project was to put out a body of work that can truly define me as an artist. It’s dark, melancholy, but has glimpses of shining hope and excited to see how it resonates.”
