Rina Mushonga’s “Hey Coach” Is An Afropunk Cry For Art

London-based, Dutch-Zimbabwean artist Rina Mushonga jettison us into an Afropunk space of quirky pop and dazzling rhythm with her new single “Hey Coach.” It’s a groovy piece where Rina adds her own sass and bold flair through her lyrics while toying with electropical elements. Stream below:

In regards to the single, Rina explained that “it’s about motivation, career-wise, no-one’s gonna fight for your ‘art’ as hard as you are, nobody has invested what you have in the same way and it’s about self-reliance and getting on with it…even when the odds appear to be stacked against you.”

“Hey Coach” is from Rina’s upcoming album In A Galaxy, whch will be out on February 15, 2019. She has shows coming up:
