Ten Fé’s “Echo Park” Is A Reflection Of Music, Heartbreak, & Palmtree Bliss

Portrait of being a band in LA

UK band Ten Fé takes us into a time capsule of their time in Los Angeles in their new laidback indie rock single “Echo Park.” In case you don’t know, Echo Park is the unofficial capital of musicians and dogowners in LA. They also have good coffee, but pretty overpriced. The song is a chill track wounded with glimmering chords that capture the rare vibe of a city where there is too much thinking in the air, but also too much warmth that distracts you from it. It’s an anesthetically stressful vibe:

“Don’t ache too long, for the woman who led your heart to break.” commented the band. “It was written shortly after getting back from our tour of the States last year. We’d spent the last few days staying in an apartment in Echo Park, and hanging out in different places around the city, always driving around with the radio on. Our heads were still very much in that place when we returned home, and the more sultry feel of this song was evocative of that time. It’s a conversation between two friends, one offering his advice to the other – it’s in the spirit of being a band out in L.A, loved up, blissed out, getting each other’s backs.”

“Echo Park” is from the band’s upcoming sophomore record Future Perfect, Present Tense, which will be out on March 8th via Some Kinda Love/PIAS. They will also embark on their North America tour around that time, so go check them out:
