Danish artist Alex Vargas shed his usual R&B wings and opts for a more grounded sound with his first 2019 single “What You Wish For.” It’s a pristine acoustic track where we are presented with Alex’ voice along with striking guitar chords. Despite it’s simplicity, there is a stressfully gorgeous intensity that Alex’ voice brings in as the strings bounce with the same mad intensity we experience when taking an inventory of our own thoughts. “What You Wish For” taps into mental health issue and also motivated Alex to seek therapy. “This one means a great deal to me. Just over a year ago I started taking care of my mental health. Probably years later than I should have, but the important thing is that I took action. This song was the final step towards reaching out to someone. This is ‘What You Wish For’. I hope you like it.”
