Toronto duo Dear Pressure breaks down the blurry and gradual process of change in their new single “By Number” – a broody and progressive sound of indietronica with hints of R&B. The track taps into life transitions and the ways we unexpectedly find things that seem to hold us back. Built on a wistful intensity, “by number” boxes us into that inexplicable ambiguous state we have often find ourselves in when trying to leave a chapter of our lives:
“Releasing this song signals a new chapter for our sound — something more bass and percussion driven. As producers who work across multiple genres, we’re used to organising our sounds. For “by number” we found ourselves painting with all of the colours” shared the duo.
Comprised of Matt Kahane and Quin Kiu, Dear Pressure is currently getting ready to roll out their EP swimdown, which will be out in April.
