Pop for momentary heartbreak

pronoun (the solo project of Alyse Vellturo) reminds us that when it comes to emotions, there are expiration dates we should keep in mind in her new single “temporary tantrum.” It’s an evocative pop track where the swelling synths and echoing percussions capture the level of intensity we feel when we go through a heartbreak. But pronoun’s self-assuring lyrics that it’s all temporary and that it will eventually fade (it’s all hormones if you really think about it) give us a space where we can calmly start taking inventory of our own emotions. Stream below:

“‘temporary tantrum’ was written about that moment in the relationship when you realize you’ve been played. although in that moment it’s heart breaking and you feel like the biggest idiot, you know that eventually you will come out on the other end and use that experience to grow.” explained pronoun.

The track is from pronoun’s upcoming debut LP i’ll show you stronger, which will be out on May 24. She will start touring that same month, so go see her:
