Hembree has been teasing us with a bunch of releases since announcing their album House On Fire (which will be out on April 26). But among all the drops that they did so far, “Heart” is by far the most intimate and favorite of all. The song slips you into a tongue-in-cheek optimism state where the soft rock elements and pop inflections take you on a melodic flight. And during this flight, the quintet reminds you to see things from a birds-eye perspective, which we often forget to do when we get too caught up with short-term stresses. Stream below:
“Heart’ is my favorite song on the record, and it’s my favorite song I’ve ever written. I wrote the chorus about lying awake next to the one you love, and feeling completely at peace in that moment. It’s also about the realization that so many of life’s stresses are somewhat insignificant in the end, and the people we love are what really matter.” explained frontman Isaac Flynn.
Hembree will be playing a couple of shows this month, so go see them:

4/27 – The Bottleneck (Lawrence, KS, USA)
