Nabowa’s “Daybreak” Is Melancholic Xanax

Through frisson-inducing violin strings that hit right down the bone, Japanese band Nabowa puts us into a chill state of cheery melancholia with “Daybreak.” The video, directed by Takahaur Shimizu, features the band in the shadow where we get to indulge in the art of orchestration through visual and auditory means. Taken from their new album Dusk, which is out now, “Daybreak” is buoyant and heart-cringing at the same time. Watch below:
