Middle Kids Tap Into The Pseudo-Conscious Nature Of Our Society In “Beliefs And Prayers”

Unlike the amount of inspirational quotes on Instagram that promote openness, the truth is we all subconsciously/unconsciously reject other people’s beliefs if they don’t fit into our criteria (think of pineapple pizza controversy). Aussie trio Middle Kids addresses that stubborn habit of ours but from a societal context in their song “Beliefs And Prayers” where they criticize the crowd psychology of rejecting whatever the authority says is wrong. Through strumming strings and lyrical prose, the trio unpeels the layers of hypocrisy that exists in our so-called open-mindedness:
