Portland Takes Us To The High-End Of “Expectations” In New Single

Belgian quartet Portland makes hauntingly gorgeous sound that also channels a form of existential melancholia. Their latest single “Expectations” captures the highs and lows we get from anticipating something that ends up not meeting the hyped up vision our minds have created. With wailing choruses and drizzling melody, “Expectations” captures the extremities of our own emotions:

“‘Expectations’ is about high hopes, deep disappointments and very abstract interactions between attractions, rejections, doubts and certainties,” Jente explained

The track is from the band’s upcoming debut album which will be out later this year. Formed back in 2014, Portland broke into the scene with their single “Pouring Rain,” which garnered over a million streams in Belgium.
