We all had those weird instances when we mix up our weekly leftovers and munch it as we immerse ourselves into the cyberworld at 3am at night. It’s a lonely feeling that you hate, but is slightly addictive at the same time. Ryan Caraveo takes such isolation and re-channels it to hooky hip-hop lyrics in new single “Peanut Butter Waffles,” which is highly controversial in the world of palette. With subtle tones of melancholia, “Peanut Butter Waffles” is a self-meditation that asks the never-ending question ‘how did I end up like this?’ Whether you hate or love Ryan for putting the words ‘peanut butter’ and ‘waffles’ together, we can all agree to thank him for addressing that weird nocturnal funk we all experienced and letting us feel less lonely about it:

“I was playing video games at 3am eating a late dinner of Peanut Butter Waffles when I wrote this song,” Caraveo explained. “The TV was muted, the fridge was making a loud buzzing noise and in that moment I kinda realized how lonely I was. I felt safe which scared me. I realized how I had been perceiving my ability to quickly cut people off and put up walls as a strength but it most definitely is not a strength. I just realized a lot of things that night, had an honest discussion with myself and then wrote the song.” shared Ryan.

Rayn broke into the scene in 2014 and has been making viral waves with songs such as “Paradise.” His latest offering “Peanut Butter Waffles” is just a sonic taste of what he has in store for us this year. Make sure to catch him live if you happen to be in Heber City in June:
