Evan Giia’s “What U Need?” Is Anxiety-Conquering Anthem

Brooklyn-based artist Evan Giia sits at the top of her anxieties in her new single “What U Need?” where she channels a self-empowering energy of being the owner of her emotions. The single artwork shows Evan sitting at the top of crumpled papers, as if she is owning the throne of her emotions. “What U Need?” is a cathartic pop piece built on tropical-tinted midtempo where Evan’s mantric lyrics “What u need from me?” nudges in dissecting the core of our own fears and conquer them. Speaking of the single’s artwork, Evan shared, “I had this vision of people writing down their worries, anxieties, doubts, frustrations onto a piece of white lined paper, crumpling it up and throwing it away into a big pile. A pile of the things that are holding people back from being in the moment. I brought that vision to life with my brother. We spent four days creating this mountain of paper with a structure under it so I could sit on it. 15 paper cuts later we created what I was envisioning in my head.”

Evan will be hitting festival stages and playing a bunch of shows this summer, so go see her:
