Sunset Sons Rocks & Skates Through Life In “Say Hi”

UK trio Sunset Sons teaches us the simple formula for happiness: rock’n’roll and skating. Their latest video “Say Hi” follows the trio being in the moment as they skate and enjoy each other’s company. You don’t need to pay $5,000 to your local guru to achieve mindfulness – you just have to engage in healthy activities that bring you joy. “Say Hi” toggles between pastoral garage and krautrock synths where the trio uses surf-rock strings and breezy drumbeats to share their own nuggets of self-introspection with a lightheartedness. Enjoy:

“‘Say Hi’ is about getting to a place in life that’s fulfilling and real. Finding your happy place and seeing the real picture, rather than surrounding yourself with fake people. The boys came up with the video concept, based around the film Bigbut in reverse – Pete, our bassist, wishing for a simpler time. Kieran, aka Lil Pete, is brilliant. Genuinely high on life and full of good vibes. What life should be all about really.” shared vocalist Rory Williams.

Produced by Catherine Marks (The Big Moon, Foals), “Say Hi” is a taste of Sunset Sons’ upcoming sophomore album. For more details go ask them in person (that is, if you can somehow get tickets):
