Ceremony’s New Video “In The Spirit World Now” Is One Trippy Film

With glaring visuals and 80s cinema throwback, Ceremony feeds our reward center with their new chromatic video “In The Spirit World Now.” Directed by Muted Windows, the video beckons us into its screenception (screen within a screen) where the blend of chintzy and surreal aesthetics deliver a trippy visual experience. “The spirit world came about through the reading of Saul Bellow’s ‘Humboldt’s Gift’. The novel’s fictitious character, Von Humboldt Fleisher, writes a long letter to the protagonist, Charlie Citrine, which announces, We are not natural beings, but supernatural beings. I understood it as a moment of praise and ran away with it” explained Ceremony’s frontman/lyricist Ross Farrar.
