Baltimore native Julien Chang bridges progressive jazz with psychedelic rock in his debut single “Of The Past.” It’s a self-made track that is built on a tapestry of moody rhythms and buoyant synths that yield the perfect equilibrium of dark, posh tones. It’s haziness is fused with the sharp undertones of disco-funk that makes “Of The Past” as danceable as meditative. Enjoy:

Currently an undergrad, Julien started releasing music during his senior year of high school which eventually landed him a record deal with Transgressive Records. He is currently working on his debut album and will be on the road this fall, so go say hola:
