Lauran Hibberd Addresses Why Being Nice Can Suck In “Frankie’s Girlfriend”

It truly does

Hailing from Isle of Wight, Lauran Hibberd addresses a very controversial topic in her new single “Frankie’s Girlfriend” where she articulates all the shitnenigans that you can end up by practicing the art of nice. Listen, we are firm advocates of being kind and nice – even on Twitter – most of the time. But there are times in your life when you get entangled with a shitty human being or situation where ‘nice’ won’t fly. And Lauren’s slacker pop single is a gentle reminder of that:

“‘Frankie’s Girlfriend’ is exactly why it can suck to be a nice person. This track is a story, based on true events and exaggerated for selling millions of (aka 600) records. It’s honestly about a pal of mine Frankie, I had a dream about him, like a weird one. And it spiraled. His chick at the time was a nightmare, I was lucky enough to witness that first hand. For me, it’s my darkest track yet. But not dark scary, dark as in three-week holiday to Mexico,” shared Lauran.

The track is from Lauran’s upcoming debut EP Everything is Dogs, which will be out on September 20th. The gal will be playing across the UK this fall, go see her:
