Yasmin Kiddle taught herself to play the guitar, bass, drums, piano, and music production from her bedroom while listening to icons such as Minnie Ripperton and Aretha Franklin. The gal’s latest single “Foolish” has the classy gist of soul, but with the sparkling oomph of contemporary pop sound. But the spotlight of her work is her voice – it’s deep-cutting and craftily maneuvers between pitches without friction. There is an undeniable lure to her vocals that absorbs you instantly and adds an emotional weight that can be felt to the core. Stream below:

Yasmin is a half-Greek Cypriot who grew up in London. As someone who has struggled with depression, finding her own sexuality, and dealing with heartbreak, Yasmin offers narratives that her audience can find comfort in. “Foolish” is from Yasmin’s critically acclaimed EP The Precede and a taste of what the gal has in store for us this year.
