Bec Sandridge’s “Stranger” Is A Surreal Portrait Of Mental Breakdown

When your head breaks in two…literally


Aussie artist Bec Sandridge taps into the skin-crawling anxiety we feel on the verge of a mental breakdown in her new single “Stranger.” Directed and produced by Tanzer, “Stranger” depicts Bec slowly losing her sanity in the chicest fashion as we watch her face split and apply lipstick à-la-Joker. It’s a metaphorical illustration that delineates how our own anxiety can break us apart and make us feel foreign towards our own bodies and mind. The track mimics the cathartic build-up of dubstep, but is washed with echoes that melt into ambience that balances the thumping cadence. Gale’s soaring and sharp vocals emanates passion as she explores anxiety at its most parasitic and paralyzing form. Watch below:
