Claire George Explores Heartbreak Through Seasons In “Alone, Together”

LA- based artist Claire George explores the cyclical phases of a relationship that goes downhill in her new indie pop single “Alone, Together.” Taking off with a downtempo serenity, there is an omnipresent dooming sensation that queasily lingers in the air despite the peaceful tone of the track. Claire’s vocals comands the intensity of the track as she wobbles between delicate croons and skyrocketing choruses. Claire has also shared an alternative version of “Alone, Together” in collaboration with Yumi Zouma’s Josh Burgess, which you can enjoy below:

On the new single, Claire shared:

“‘Alone, Together’ covers the different seasons in the lifecycle of a failed relationship. The phrase ‘alone together’ shifts meaning over the course of the song, tipping the scale from an expression of obsession and passion to one of hollowness and defeat.

I started playing this song at shows as a piano ballad over a year ago, and earlier this year Josh from Yumi Zouma approached me about recording the song together. In our recording session, the song began to take on a different energy than that of the ballad I’d originally written, and I thought it would be interesting to create a duality not only within the song, but by releasing two versions of the song to express the two meanings of the phrase.”

“Alone, Together” is out now via Cascine and a taste of what the gal has in store for us this year. You can catch the gal onstage towards the end of this month:
