Hovvdy Reminds Us That All Good Things Start Small In “Mr. Lee”

Austin-based duo Hovvdy is giving us a taste of their upcoming record Heavy Lifter titled “Mr. Lee” where the duo explores the adage that it is the small things that make life significant. Over a hazy soundscape of gauzy vocals and gliding chords, Hovvdy puts us in a deep mood to chill and shuffle through our own thoughts – it’s the perfect track to have in mind during your weekly Wednesday meeting about Tuesday’s meeting:
“I imagined Mr. Lee on the Mississippi gulf coast where my dad and grandparents live. It’s a beautiful and sad place. The song is about how significant very small things can be. Sometimes it takes courage to be kind to yourself. It’s really amazing when little events coalesce and all the sudden you feel better, awake, a vibrant piece of the bigger picture,” shared Hoovdy’s Charlie Martin.
Heavy Lifter will be out on October 18th via Double Double Whammy. The duo will also kick off their North America tour that day, so go say hello:
