Cousin Kula’s “Invitation” Is The Most Unromantic Romantic Anthem

Bristol-based band Cousin Kula deliver a biting sense of reality paired with witty rationale in their new single “Invitation,” a psychedelic pop anthem where CK pleads to a lover to stay longer rather than deliver a lovecome ending. ‘’Could we make it up? Or are we out of luck?” they chant. With its swirling strings and mind-razzling buzz, “Invitation” offers a slice-of-life fiction through its lyrics where CK accepts the doomed fleeting nature of love yet still clings onto the momentary bliss that it provides. And that’s the dark humor of the anthem that makes it the most unromantic love song:
