Hanya’s “Dream Wife” Is A Dream Pop Ode To That Person You Chose Over Pringles

When even crisps can’t bribe you from seeing them

Brighton’s quartet Hanya is here to make us feel the infatuation between Rome and Juliet through their new single “Dream Wife,” a hazy indie pop piece that delivers the raw naïve emotions of being fully immersed with someone for the first time. The track is a smudy piece where the fizzling atmospherics paired with the exquisite croons take your brain away from productivity and into daydreaming:

“‘Dream Wife’ is a song for the lovers. A throwback championing that first special someone, and the ‘honeymoon phase’ we’re all familiar with. Whether it’s an unrequited crush or the beginning of something long-term. It’s an arresting period of time that not even your mum can snap you out of with a trip bowling and some Pringles…” shared HANYA.

Comprised of Heather Sheret (guitar, vocal), Benjamin Varnes (guitar), Dylan Fanger (bass), Jack Watkins (drums), Hanya is currently getting ready to release their new EP Sea Shoes early next year. They’re on tour:

22 Nov – DIY Space for London (supporting Langkamer)

27 Nov – The Richmond, Brighton (single launch)

30 Nov – Hotbox, Chelmsford

17 Jan – The Hope & Ruin, Brighton (Love Thy Neighbours ‘Triptych’ Series)
