Mattiel Shows Us The Real Price Of Cheap Thrills In New Video “Millionaire”

Meet the les Misérables of American entertainment

Still from Mattiel – Millionaire (Official Video)

Atlanta-based act Mattiel mercilessly shows us the real faces of the people that deliver entertainment to America in new video “Millionaire.” We see a typical, upbeat state fair where the shiny lights reflect the gloomy expressions of the workers who are delivering the ultimate cheap thrills to the masses. It’s dark humor that bites your guilty consciousness as you remember all of the times that you indulged in the rides and deep fried Oreos while smiling back at les Misérables…oh well:

Regarding the video, frontwoman Mattiel Brown shared: “Besides the nostalgia factor from my childhood, I wanted to shoot the video at a state fair because there’s such an eerie juxtaposition between the bright lights and the actual people who run the cheap thrills. The need for instant gratification is a very American, western-world thing. No matter the mental or physical cost, entertainment is always readily available. But funny enough, inside this huge funfair of rides and games, a lot of the people I ran into didn’t look entertained at all.”

“Millionaire” is from their ctitically acclaimed sophomore record Satis Factory, which was released back in June via ATO Records. The band will kick off tour next January, don’t miss them:
