Frances Quinlan (of Hop Along) navigates through the frustrations and incentives of being close with someone in “Your Reply.” It’s a smooth balladry where the guitar-weaved rhythm paired with her vocal charm exude a cozy, intimate soundscape. Stream below:

Regarding the single, the gal shared:

“There can be a one-sidedness to even the most loving and rewarding relationships,” Quinlan shared. “We will always have a part of ourselves we can’t or don’t know how to share. There are so many risks involved. Regardless, I think of this song as celebratory. If anything, the speaker is frustrated at coming so close to understanding another person completely, but perhaps only just missing the mark. But still what a gift that is, to come close.”

“Your Reply” is from Frances’ upcoming solo record Likewise, which will be out on January 31st via Saddle Creek. The gal has also announced an NYC album release shows and pop-up galleries across NYC and LA in the upcoming weeks, so don’t miss her:
