Angolan-Portuguese artist Pongo awakens our inner dancer spirit with her new single “Canto.” Infused with elements of Latin sound, “Canto” hops and spins within your system as the breakneck choruses of Pongo induces us into the blood-rushing dancefloor. “Canto” is built on Portugal, a mixture of Portuguese with Spanish, and is inflicted with sparks of mambo, pop, and hip-hop. The video shows the gal in different places where she shows her choreographic swagger:
On her new single, Pongo shared: “This song describes the happiness I feel while making music. I’m trying to use Latin rhythms and their particular ambience. I love mixing and discovering.”
The song is from Pongo’s upcoming EP Uwa, which will be out on February 7th.
