LA-based duo Carrousel invites us into the dark side of pop layered with ominous tones in their new EP I Wasn’t Well. The EP kicks off with “Psychobabble Drama,” a heavy-hearted piece that explores Courrousel’s Joel Piedt’s nightmares that become more vivid in the following piece, “A Solitary Soul.” In “Magnificent Desolation,” they transport us into an ethereal sphere filled with grand organs and pounding echoes. Fun fact: the track was recorded in a church to capture the spiritual vibe. The duo wraps up the EP with a blast in “I Wasn’t Well,” where the thrusting melody and blooming choruses leaves us with the final message:
