UK artist AKA George gives us a kick of adrenaline with his latest single “Up All Night,” a crafty blend of rock and pop that gives you a self-empowering YOLO feeling. It’s a seamlessly bubbly anthem filled with blood-pumping instances where AKA George makes you feel like you could conquer the world – even if it’s 3am and you’re in alone in your room in sweatpants. Yes, your neighbors and roommates will help you for blasting this, but that’s life:
On his new single, George commented: “This is about the super turbo charged version of yourself and trying to live it to its fullest: talking yourself into being great. When I am at my most down on myself, that’s when I write songs like this. The one moment of self-awareness is in the breakdown where I sing, ‘If I repeat it, maybe I’ll believe it.’ Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don’t.”
You probably know of George through his viral YouTube cover of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” which garnered more than 30 million views. He has previously collaborated with Grammy nominated producer Dan Lancaster for “Stone Cold Classic,” which has more than 13 million streams. “Up All Night” is from his upcoming debut EP Bad For You, which will be out on April 10th via Anti Fragile Music.
