An existential dynamite

UK quartet Strange Bones gives us the ultimate snooze-proof anthem for waking up – both literally and figuratively – titled “Underdogs.” It’s a dynamite with various layers of explosions characterized by bursting thumps, piercing choruses, and razor-sharp synths that unleashes all the frustration and madness found within being caught in a system that is self-destructive. Enjoy:

On the new single, Strange Bones’ vocalist Bobby Bentham explained, “‘Underdogs’ is a paradox, a reaction to the contradictions found within a broken system that’s set up for us to fall on our faces. It’s like playing Texas holdem with your leg in a bear trap. This second instalment of Blitz part two is the embodiment of my disillusionment towards an industry of takers, a narcissistic yet empowering viewpoint on life and its troubles.”

“Underdogs” is from Strange Bones’ upcoming EP Blitz Part 2, which will be out on April 10th. The band will be hitting the road in May, so go see them:

May 06 – London, The 100 Club

May 07 – Manchester, Gorilla

May 10 – Glasgow, King Tut’s

May 11 – Dublin, The Road To Great Escape

May 15 – Brighton, The Great Escape
