Canadian quintet Shred Kelly addresses the weird effect that social media is having on human relationships in new single “Dead Leaves,” a playfully upbeat indie rock piece that navigates through the extremities and divides that we’re seeing online. From filtered happiness to trolling, “Dead Leaves” is a portrait of the way a post can hit our reward center or raise our cortisol levels:

“‘Dead Leaves,’ our new single, is a sombre reflection on our social connections online. Our online experiences are half ‘Instagram happy,’ seen in the shadow of dire warnings of what’s happening in the world around us,” shared the band.
