Toronto-based artist Sylo Nozra invites us into the hazy territory of addiction in new single “Ginny.” The track taps into different forms of addiction that range from alcohol to sex and the gray boundaries that exist when defining our relationship with it. Through smoke-soaked rhythms and visceral croons, Sylo takes us into the guilty euphoria of our self-destructive vices:
Regarding his new single, Sylo shared: “The cycles of addiction – from substances to sex – are made up of blurred lines. It’s not the specific thing you’re using as an escape, it’s the urge inside of you. The feeling of fighting something, but sometimes it gets the best of you.
‘Ginny’ is the vices of alcohol as a nickname for gin and sex, and how the two are married in this song.”
“Ginny” is from Sylo’s upcoming debut album that will be arriving this summer.
