LA-based duo Gum Country (aka Courtney Garvin and Connor Mayer) is sharing their love for plants and gardening in their new single “Talking To My Plants.” It’s a breezy, lo-fi piece that takes you into a serene state. Along with the single, the duo announced the official Seed Packet merch available today via Bandcamp and as part of vinyl bundle. All seed packet sales will be donated to American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Enjoy:
“The song was inspired by a love of gardening and the gardener / plant connection,” Courtney explained. “We’re big fans of the Mort Garson album ‘Plantasia’, so it’s a bit of a tribute to that. We were also excited to have an excuse for Connor to use a vocoder. He does lead plant vocals.”
The track is from their upcoming debut full-length album Somewhere, which will be out on June 19th.
