Melbourne-based quartet Subcult gives us the ultimate bonfire track to pour your heartache out titled “Suffocating.” It’s not a depressive, emo track but one where the four gracefully hybridize pop’s hooky DNA with the raw, edgy ingredients of garage rock. Born around the bonfire at guitarist Ben’s house, the song was largely influenced by singer Lex’ lopsided relationship where one party was fully invested while the other party was being a total shit gamophobic.
