Playwright George Bernard Shaw once said, “Youth is wasted on the young” and it can’t be further from the truth. London artist Sleepwoka taps into our misguided naïve notion that the best is yet to come in his latest single “How I Was Wrong.” Wearing his nostalgia on his sleeve, Sleepwoka illustrates the ways we always idealized our future selves while overlooking the bliss of being young and free in the present. As you age, responsibilities just grow exponentially and you become painfully concerned about weird shit like credit score, CCing vs BCCing, misspelled texts, gluten, etc. “How I Was Wrong” gives you that retro 80s vibe and dreamy soundscape to cry for your bygone youth and make the best out of this moment:

On the single, he shared: “When we were younger, we always felt that the best times were always ahead of us and that we would be the kings of this life! As the years go by, and we begin to achieve our life goals, we realise that those carefree times were actually the years where we felt most free and alive. Although we had nothing, somehow life felt more Authentic.”
