There isn’t much about Delachute online – all we know is that he’s an artist from Montreal who has had one of the rarest jobs on earth. For a few years, he drove from prison to prison and spent hours with offenders, victims, or the victims’ family members where he heard stories of murders. Although it was part of his ‘job,’ the stories haunted him and he used music as a coping mechanism. Teaming up with producer Mark Lawson (Arcade Fire, Beirut, Timber Timbre), Delachute has crafted gorgeously dark music that digs deep into the human soul – even the corners we normally avoid.
