San Diego artist Ricky (aka Ricky Schmidt) has announced his debut solo record Palm Trees, out on November 13th. Ricky is best known as the writer/singer/bassist of Western Settings and writer/bassist for Hey, Chels. With his solo record, Ricky showcases a new side of his melodic vision. Produced by Tyson “Chicken” Annicharico of Dead To Me, Palm Trees is an 11-track record that features drums by Shane Hendry and vocals by Ricky’s Hey,Chels bandmate Jax. Check out Ricky’s latest single “Escape Artist,” the album’s first single:

“This song is about needing to step away from the world and allow yourself time away from everything. We all need breaks and especially during a time like the one we are currently all in,” shared Ricky.
