LA-based queer artist Mike Taveira plays dodgeball while musing on the cyclical nature of karma in his new single and video “Karma.” It’s a bouncy pop piece graced with R&B elements that capture the wtf feeling of watching your ex move on smoothly while you’re still mending your heartbreak. “I do believe in karma and I do believe she is coming. She just likes to wait for the perfect timing and I was impatient, which led to the song,” shared Taveira. Enjoy:
The video, which was created in collaboration with Canada’s Drag Race star Lemon, depicts the feeling of being incessantly haunted by karma. Taveira reflects, “We wanted to have a simple but effective video to showcase how it feels to constantly receive karma on your end and the result came to dodgeballs being decked at my face.”
Yes, karma is a bitch.
