Sydney-based artist KESMAR rolls us a disco ball powdered by chill pill in his latest single “Meteorite,” a funky blend of hip-shaking beats fused with the rhythmic indie twists. Co-written last year with I Know Leopard’s frontman Luke O’Loughlin, “Metorite” has a seamless fluidity to it that slithers into your reward center in the most laidback fashion. Hit play:
Speaking of the release, KESMAR shared: “I invited Luke around to my home studio in Annandale, Sydney to make some music together. I started with some pre-recorded live drums as Luke made his way over to the keys, next thing we knew it was 7pm and we were both listening to a semi-finished demo. I worked on the production for a day or two after then it sat on my laptop for months. Finally then bringing it to my long time collaborator and friend Tobias Priddle. I really didn’t want to give too much away on this track, I feel like its open for everyone’s own interpretation.”
Nathan Hawes is the mastermind behind KESMAR who released his breakthrough 2019 debut EP Up To Youback in in 2019. He has supported the likes of Vera Blue and Miami Horror in the past. Like many artists, Hawes has been using this chaotic year to hone his craft and make more grooves, which he’ll be sharing soon.
