UK quintet Home Counties transport us to the groovy 70s with their latest single “Modern Yuppies.” It has the cinematic flair of classic cop show soundtracks that reminds us of colorful aviator glasses, vintage mustache, and curly broccoli disco hair. With “Modern Yuppies,” the quintet showers us with post-punk synths that has an indulgent theatrical vibe to it. Since this year still feels like last year, let’s blow this taco stand and hit the 70s:
Speaking of the track, the band shared: “Synths and drum machines were already something we were very keen to explore and 2020 provided us with an unexpected amount of free time to experiment. We dialled the disco influences up to the max and totally embraced that 70’s-cop-drama vibe for this pair of stand-alone singles. It feels like a bold declaration of who we are and it definitely gives a clearer taste of where we’re heading for our next EP.”
“Modern Yuppies” is out now via Alcopop! Records.
