Aussie artist Burning Jacobs Ladder (Jake Johnson) has been making waves with his gritty sound in the past few months. Today, he has unveiled his debut record EP/1, a stunning collection of songs that have been crafted with psychedelic and blues elements. From intimate stories of mental health to escapism, EP/1 not only reveals Jake’s talent to craft raw, visceral sounds – but his own daring personality to share his most vulnerable moments. The record takes off with the upbeat “Danger In Me” before settling into a darker road with “Dystopian Blues.” The following “Seventh Fever of the Mind” has the Spaghetti West edge to it whereas the slow-burning “Seeking The Light” takes us on a kaleidoscopic trip. The final song “Cleanse The Soul” is an acoustic piece where Jake narrates the story of a friend who tried to take their own life.  It’s an intimate record that highlights Jake’s ability to translate heavy-hearted topics into songs that leave you with a message of hope:
