Luna Li Grooves Away From Loneliness In “Alone But Not Lonely”
While most of us have an emotional allergy to loneliness, Toronto native Luna Li (aka Hannah Kim) uses that time as an opportunity to dance in her new single and video “Alone But Not Lonely.” Inspired by Luna’s own experience moving into her first apartment, “Alone But Not Lonely” is a lush piece weaved with celestial violin chords and ebullient synths that move with flawless panache. Check it out:
“I wrote ‘Alone But Not Lonely’ in my very first apartment which was cockroach infested. I was feeling really uncomfortable and lonely in the new space, and decided to write this song to cheer myself up and entertain my newfound insect friends,” said Luna Li. “The phrase ‘Alone But Not Lonely’ is a mantra I use to remind myself that time I spend with myself is valuable and special, something that should be celebrated.”
Luna Li will be embarking on her first US tour supporting Japanese Breakfast this fall, so go see them:
