German artist Zoe Wees pays homage to her great-grandmother in her new video “Hold Me Like You Used To.” The stunning visuals and minimalistic tones capture Zoe’s emotions as she pours her heart out through her mesmeric vocals. Brushed with melancholia, “Hold Me Like You Used To” is a propulsive pop anthem that highlights Zoe’s prowess in translating some of the most gut-wrenching emotions into a gorgeous sonic canvass. Check it out:
In her own words, “This is a song about losing someone you really love and feel close to. It’s dedicated to my great-grandmother, who sadly passed away. She was such a strong woman and the funniest person I knew, and I can still feel her great energy. She is my inspiration and I know she is still here.”
The track is from her debut EP Golden Wings, which is out now.
