Austin duo Hovvdy (aka Charlie Martin and Will Taylor) have returned with their latest single “True Love,” an intimate look into the different kinds of relationships that keep us connected. Taken from their upcoming album True Love, which will be out on October 1st via Grand Jury, the track is a not to their dreamy folksy roots while offering more mature emotional substance. This isn’t surprising as both Martin and Taylor have gone through some of the biggest life changes – both have married their partners and Taylor has even become a father:

“For each Hovvdy record there’s always been a song that kinda shocks my system, kinda jolts me into a brand new and inspired place. This was definitely that song for me,” said Martin of the title track. “I remember writing it and feeling a rush of excitement — crying a lot honestly. it feels so good to express love and appreciation when you really fucking mean it. but it’s hard to feel worthy of love, of something so rare, and all we can do is try to measure up — that’s what that last part is all about.”

They’ll be playing intimate album release shows this upcoming fall:

10/22 – Los Angeles, CA @ Gold Diggers

10/26 – Austin, TX @ Mohawk Indoor

10/29 – Brooklyn, NY @ Purgatory
