Adelaide-based band Agapanther give a shoutout to their former pets in new single “Last Legs.” It’s punk rock filled with foot-stomping drums and vigorous riffs that reawakens your dark emo soul that has been buried with your MySpace for years. But lyrically, “Last Legs” is an intimate touching tribute to the band members’ former dogs and the stages of grief they experienced as a result.

“‘Last Legs’ centres around the story of members Kyle and Dylan losing their childhood dog. However, the story is somewhat bittersweet as Corky was expected to live for a mere three months after being diagnosed with cancer, yet survived another two years. The song focuses on the events leading up to her passing and the new feelings of grief that the boys experienced as they had to say goodbye to their beloved family beagle.”

The band have shows coming up:

August 13 – The Crown & Anchor, Adelaide

w/ Bad Juju, Sports Car and Mum Friends

August 20 – The Workers Clubs, Melbourne

w/ Bad Juju, Bukowski and Rex Dante
