Sam Fender Catches His Own Insecurities In The Mirror In New Banger “Get You Down”

When Sam Fender dropped “Seventeen Going Under,” he didn’t only hit us with nostalgia but also with the upsetting realization that your teenage fears, anger, and trauma never leaves you even if you enter adulthood. Today, Sam is back with another single “Get You Down” where he looks into the mirror and sees all the unwanted insecurities of his past crippling into his present life and relationship. The lyrics are heart-breaking, but the foot-stomping riffs rush through your veins with a cornucopia of frissons: 

On the song, Sam shared: “The whole record is about growing up and the self-esteem issues that you carry into your adult life, this song in particular is about how insecurity has affected my relationships. Definitely one of the more personal ones.”

The track is from his upcoming sophomore album Seventeen Going Under, which will be out on October 8thvia Interscope. He’ll kick off his sold-out UK tour soon:
