New Zealand artist Tom Verberne gives us a fish eye view into a fantasy interview in his latest music video “Tangled.” Bringing the early 00s retro touch, Verberne blurs the lines between pop and R&B that makes you feel like you’re going back to those MySpace days. The visuals are a feverish journey where we get to see Verberne go through a fantasy interview.
In his own words, “The ‘Tangled’ music video embodies the essence of the song. It visually follows the smooth to glitchy feeling of the song with the constant movement transitioning to jerky shutter speeds. Following a fantasy interview hoping to attain a place in someone’s life, it all plays out like a bad dream where you can’t reach your destination. A dreamy effect is layers over most of the video playing into the surreal feeling.”
The track is from his latest EP LIKE LIFE, which is out now.
