UK artist SOFY addresses gender dynamics by taking a bite into toxic masculinity and lad culture in her latest single “Lads! Lads! Lads!” It’s a cheeky piece where SOFY lightheartedly pokes fun of outdated gender ideas and unwanted behaviors (ie catcalling) through sweet humor that ultimately delivers fuckyou to all the misogynists out there. Check it out:

On the track, SOFY shared: “‘Lads! Lads! Lads!’ was a totally off the cuff idea, inspired by a conversation I had with Robb and Amie (Gold Spectacles) after I showed them the ‘4 Lads in Jeans’ meme. The song brings to life some important messages about lad culture and toxic masculinity but in a light-hearted way with a bit more of a tongue-in-cheek delivery, using humour to call out problematic behaviours like catcalling. I’m really proud of the way we were able to weave the two together and it’s probably my favourite track on the whole project.”

If you’re in the UK around Thanksgiving, you can catch her in-person:
